In Middlebrook, N.J., Washingtons headquarters has another new patriot: Anna Strong.

Theres work to be done at the camp, but not exactly what Anna signed on for.

And such a gentleman, too.

As far as Washington is concerned, Anna is no longer of use.

Ben succeeded in keeping that part of Annas story secret from Washington.

But he had to fib more than a little to explain her sudden exodus from Setauket.

Still, poor Anna, wearing a scarlet A that George Washington can see a mile away.

I just wish you had a sister growing up, Ben, she says bitterly.

Or even a girl… that you loved.

yells Ben, reminding us that his heart is still in Franklin Township.

Back in Setauket, Abe is done mourning Annas departure.

After Abe sets out for Oyster Point, Mary and Thomas are left to fend for themselves.

Simcoe rides through with his surviving Queens Rangers unit.

Oh, Judge, youre so devious.

The Judge parries Simcoes initial accusations, but Simcoe is going to make him sweat.

Twisting the knife, he orders the Judge to ask permission before entering the study ever again.

NEXT: Anna proves her worth

In New York, Robert sticks his neck out a little too far.

Everyone wonders who this guy is with the tray of drinks.

Bing, bang, boom, the secret message is heading to Washington.

But its too late to prevent the plot when Washington is finally made aware.

And it just so happens that Caleb knows exactly where said privateer operates.

To the Caleb mobile!

When Caleb sees the man who murdered his mentor, Sackett, he wants to take immediate retribution.

But Ben wisely recommends that they keep Gamble alive long enough to learn the whereabouts of the other counterfeiters.

Once hell breaks loose, however, all bets are off.

Armed and angry, Rogers forces Abe to tell the latest intelligence reports about Andres plot.

Sounds just like Andre, he sneers.

Using money as a weapon…Is he crossing the lines himself?

Key words, because it’s possible for you to tell that Rogers is already formulating a trap.

This is the key, he tells Abe.

This is the heel of old Achilles himself.

Or perhaps Washingtons plans for the war will push destiny in Rogers direction.

Abe, however, is not part of Rogers plan.

(Note to self: Never build a cellar with a lockon the outside.)

Im not going to kill ya, Rogers says, as a farewell.

But we will never see each other again.

Which way did he run?

Let the hunt begin.

(And may Hewlett get in the way.)
