Theyve gone to another country, namely the U.S., and theyve started a new life, Noah explained.
Im the people that Donald Trump wishes to build a wall for.
I am part of the people that may be banned, the visas that may be blocked.
A large part of the U.S. is represented by that.
Youre an outsider until youre not.
Ive always believed were sharing the same feelings, going through the same things.
Back then, a lot of people got their news primarily from cable channels, if notThe Daily Showitself.
Now, everythings a live feed or a stream of constant news.
He has mastered the art of moving us on to the next news cycle, Noah said.
He goes, Ted Cruzs dadassassinated Kennedy, and youre going, What?
And then hes like, And I will not release my tax returns.
Okay, wait, what?
Now weve forgotten the assassination and are like, What do you mean you wont release your tax returns?
He goes, Yeah, talk to John Miller about this.
Wait, youfake your own interviews?
And now youve forgotten the tax returns.
Wait, did you just do that?
We havent even gotten over the assassination!
Lets take a step back.
I love doing this with these arguments online, Noah said.
Does L.A. have beautiful faces?
Yes, it does.
Because its generally an acting population, people are going out there to make their big break.
Now, does Oakland have beautiful booties?
Now, hes celebrating the thing I dont want none unless you got buns.
His position is pre-defined.
You have now taken that away and saying thats a negative thing.
Why are you angry?
Youre angry because you read a headline.
Noah said he did, and that he learned it from growing up in a religious household.
She would allow me to challenge her views if I could come with a very logical argument.
Then shed reply with one, and wed go back and forth.
She taught me to apply my mind to a problem, not just say its wrong or its right.
Thats probably the best advice Jon Stewart gave me, Noah said.
He said, My show is done.
People wont acknowledge it, but I know my show is done.
My show is done.
Im angry, and Im tired, and Im moving on.
So I said to him, What isThe Daily Showsupposed to be?
And he said, There is no such thing asThe Daily Show.
The show is shaped by the host.
You are the person that gives it life, you are the person that guides it.
you’re gonna wanna make the show what you believe the show needs to be.'
People are no longer getting their news from the show, Noah said.
Theyre looking to it for comedy, and theyre also looking to it for a shaping of their opinion.
Thats what people are saying.
Oh, I didnt think of it like that.
Or, Now I see it in a different way.
Thats what the show needs to work towards.
