Transparentcreator Jill Soloway is extending her reach into the family drama genre with Amazon, asDeadlinereports she is set to produce an adaptation of Cynthia DAprix Sweeneys novel,The Nest, following a pre-emptive acquisition by Amazon Films.
Independent film producer Andrea Sperling (Like Crazy,But Im a Cheerleader,Pumpkin) is set to co-produce via Topple Productions, her joint venture with Soloway, while DAprix Sweeney is reportedly adapting her own novel to write the films screenplay.
The Nesttells the story of four siblings caught in a feud after one of them (fresh from rehab and a nasty car accident) recklessly spends a hefty family inheritance.

Acelebrity-filled trailerfor the book was released in January (watch above for possible casting clues), and, in arecent review, EW called DAprix Sweeneys writing like really good dark chocolate: sharper and more bittersweet than the cheap stuff, but also too delicious not to finish in one sitting.
Amazon acquired the family dramaManchester by the Sea, touted as a potential Oscar player, for $10 million at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival in January, and willpartner with Roadside Attractionsto release the film to theaters Nov. 18.
The studio is also set to release Whit StillmansLove & FriendshipMay 13, while Woody Allens Amazon production (and2016 Cannes Film Festival opener),Cafe Society, will debut in theaters ahead of streaming later this year.
