ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How and when did you find out about Denises demise, as it were?

How did showrunner Scott Gimple relay the information that this was going down?

I assumed that it would happen.

Thats how people tend to make it off the show.

I wasnt, because I dont know anything about the comics.

I think Michael Cudlitz owes you a bottle of wine or something.

I dont think he was going anywhere.

You mentioned that you didnt follow the comic book at all.

I didnt know about the show.

So what was on your mind as you were getting ready to shoot that?

I dont think anything in particular.

It wasnt all that complicated on my end.

They really know what theyre doing down there and theyre really, really good at it.

We see several instances in this episode where Denise is really trying to toughen up.

Why now for her to want to step up and test her mettle?

And that she was still feeling too insecure or hesitant and fearful to tell her that she loved her.

She wanted to test herself, and it just did not work out.

You shared the most scenes with Alanna Masterson.

What was it like working with her to create that relationship between Denise and Tara?

Shes so much fun and so sweet and so good to me.

So I was very lucky to work with her.

And things move fast on this show.

The death day wasnt the last day, but everyone talks about how great it is and its true.

Its a really nice place to work.

The cast, the crew, they are very, very welcoming to new people.

It was embarrassing, I didnt realize that they all show up on your last day.

Were like an hour outside of Atlanta proper and all these people who werent working came in.

And they come in at night and wait for your last shot.

Its a really, really inclusive, generous bunch of folks down there.

And I tried not to cry.

Thats all I did.

And how did you succeed in that venture?

Id like to say I succeeded.

What will you miss most about playing Denise and working on this show?

The friendliness of the people.

How welcoming they were, and inclusive.

Its not always like that on all sets.

And I really appreciated the effort that people put in to making it a nice place to work.

Its just not always the case and I think its really a nice thing when its done like that.
