I watched the show, one.
But two, Ive always had a foot in the comic book world.
And then that took on a whole new level when I didWatchmen.
I go to Comic-Con every year, generally with some project of some sort.
They didnt know the characters name.
It was all a big secret.
They just got halfway through and I knew immediately who it was.
It was no question.
I was like, Absolutely.
Were going to fing do it!
And that was it.
And literally a week later I was in Atlanta talking with the cast and hanging out.
You brought upWatchmenand Ive seen shades of Negan in The Comedian.
There are some similarities there, right?
Yeah, there is.
Theres definitely some similarities.
I cant tell you the last time Ive been this giddy about doing a role.
How close to the comic are they going to keep the character?
The character itself is going to be as close as humanly possible.
The foul language is an issue.
Look, its a speed bump.
Im not going to say its an issue because theyre working on it.
He uses some colorful language.
And I use some colorful language.
And reading the comic, its important.
So well see where that lands.
Its our intention that this character is going to leap off the pages of the comic book.
Its very important that thats who it is.
