Raise your hand if you love Enzo a little bit right now?

Well done, Bonnie.

The relationship ignites three years ago at Whitmore.

Enzo manages to swoop her out just in time.

Before she can thank him, he jabs a syringe in her neck.

Today’s Bonnie is eager to find a cure for her anti-magic pills.

Enzo convinces her to enlist Damon’s help.

She agrees, but makes it quite clear that she doesn’t want him speaking to her.

All communication will go through Enzo.

Let this be a lesson to everyone: never leave Bonnie without saying goodbye.

Bonnie walks in like she owns the joint.

We flash back three years to Bonnie waking up in the exact same charming cabin.

They must work together to figure out why his cousin Alex is so interested in Bonnie’s life.

He asks her to work with him.

In her down time, she can sift through mountains of research to help connect the dots.

Doesn’t that sound fun?

Back in the present, Damon and Enzo visit Rayna who is frantically drawing images and symbols.

She still has a mystical connection to all the vampires who escaped the Phoenix Stone.

Damon uses her unfortunate mental status to broker a deal.

With every name wiped out, she would owe them a favor.

Since she’s on her last mortal life, she could be a saint and transfer it to Bonnie.

Rayna is going to die anyway.

This is a win/win situation for all parties involved, right?

We suddenly flash back to Bonnie and Enzo in the cabin.

More than a year has gone by and Enzo surprises Bonnie with an enchanting New Year’s Eve celebration.

Just as Enzo is about to make his move, something stops him.

Then he leaves to go back to his double life at the Armory.

The romantic in me appreciates this nice build-up.

Enzo in a suit = H-O-T!

Pining over a girl is definitely a major theme of this episode.

Stefan decides he needs to see Caroline to set things straight.

They head to a bar, because duh, and Ric calls Stefan out.

Why didn’t he show up three years ago when Rayna was locked up?

Just as Stefan is about to let it all out, Damon calls to interrupt the reunion.

Bonnie’s in trouble and we have a plan to fix that.

Does anyone feel like going hunting?

The next moments are so fun.

All across the nation, the entire gang takes out vampires in quirky, imaginative ways.

Stefan and Ric play a little golf with a vamp’s heart.

Enzo and Damon play basketball with vamp’s heads.

Rayna’s list is quickly being chipped away.

In fact, the trail of dead vampire bodies is so extensive that the Armory becomes suspicious.

NEXT: Bonnie and Enzo sitting in a tree

Alex tracks Enzo to a warehouse.

She knows that he is up to something and that he’s hiding Bonnie from her.

Her attitude has changed, though.

She takes a softer approach.

She tells Enzo that her sister Virginia killed Lucy Bennett.

Before Virginia killed Bonnie’s cousin, she made her seal the Armory vault.

The only problem is that there is another sister down there.

Alex wants to get her out, and a Bennett witch is the only one who can help.

Something has kept the sister alive.

Alex can hear her calling for help.

Enzo calls Bonnie and Damon to fill them in on the deal.

Bonnie laughs at the thought of helping Alex.

That’s when the camera pans to a huge scab on her hand.

Buckle your seat belts, people.

This unfortunate turn of events means Bonnie Bennett only has one week to live.

The scene flashes back one year ago.

Bonnie is playing the guitar.

When she sees Enzo watching her, she tells him about Virginia and how she knew her cousin Lucy.

She mentions that Virginia is in a mental hospital.

It’s time to go undercover.

It’s also time to go under the covers.

Enzo and Bonnie share a romantic first real kiss and then some.

I appreciate that this relationship took its time to grow into something that is hopefully real.

Call me crazy, but I like these two together.

Back in real time, Enzo, Damon, and Bonnie are still out hunting baddies.

Of course he would be in a different body!

Bonnie insists they keep him alive.

He’s the one who helped Caroline and the twins.

Damon has different plans.

And by that, I mean he rips his heart out without hesitating.

Damon defends himself to Enzo.

He takes care of things.

He doesn’t ask permission.

Bo was on the list, so Bo is now off the list.

Damon admits that he should have never run away.

Bonnie crudely chimes in, “But you did.

And I got over it.”

Sure, she’s slowly being poisoned by pills Enzo gave her, but he didn’t know.

He’s done nothing but protect her.

If he doesn’t figure out a cure, she’ll die.

And who will be by her side?

Damon isn’t the only one having a hard time mending fences.

Rick is having fun slaying vamps, but he has no interest in getting the band back together.

There is no place for Stefan in Caroline’s life.

Ric shares that Caroline used to go away and cry about Stefan, but she doesn’t anymore.

Ric and the twins are her life now.

When Stefan asks who sleeps in the second bedroom of their home, Ric headbutts him.

It was awesome and Stefan deserved it.

Clearly Ric and Caroline are dating out of convenience.

Deep down, they both know it’s not love.

She looks at Stefan, kisses Ric, and ascends the stairs to read her girls a bedtime story.

Here’s hoping it’s one that ends in happily ever after.

Meanwhile, Enzo and Bonnie are so disgustingly sweet in their cabin, and Damon finds sanctuary with Rayna.

He heads to her room to get the next name on the hit list.

Unfortunately, that list has grown into a jillion pieces of paper covering every inch of wall space.

It looks like Rayna isn’t going to give up her body that easily.
