The renamed street runs outside the high school the band’s founding members attended
The Ramones left an indelible mark on New York City, and now, the band will be memorialized in their native Queens.
According to astatementon the bands official website, a street in front of the boroughs Forest Hills High School which all four of the groups founding members attended will be renamed Ramones Way.
The renamed street will be unveiled in a ceremony at the intersection of 67th Ave. and 110th St. at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23.

Ramones Way is the second New York City location to be named after the band; in 2003,Joey Ramone Placewas erected on the corner of Bowery and East 2nd St., close to the location of the defunct CBGB punk club that launched the Ramones career.
In September, the Grammy Museum opened anexhibitexamining the Ramones and the birth of punk to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the bands self-titled 1976 debut.
