They have super-human abilities.

It shouldn’t make sense, but it does.

And it’s what makes this drama so impactful.

If she takes the serum, she too will become lethal to the Mikaelson family.

Lucien has to find a way to free Tristan.

Of course that’s assuming that Freya doesn’t figure out how to kill Lucien first.

She’s working on a sigil back at the compound when we get ourElijah Moment of the Week.

With one line about Lucien, this man wins my heart.

As he puts it, “How do we demolish that rodent?”

Only, it’s not going to be as romantic when she lets Vincent interrogate her boyfriend.

But hey, he’s trying to help with the whole ancestor situation.

It seems Klaus is going to serve as bait so that Lucien can get his hands on Elijah.

Understanding, Hayley simply asks that Elijah be careful.

(See, Lucien really has been planning this for centuries.)

I’m not sure what just happened, but I loved it.

As he so elegantly puts it, “We are flames in the darkness of each other’s worlds.

We burn brighter together than we ever did alone.”

He offers to forgive her if she’ll extend the same courtesy back to him.

But she sees through his failed seduction.

Why not let him save her brother, right?

And with that, Aurora downs the serum.

So while Elijah and Lucien discuss exchanging one brother for anotherTristan for KlausAurora contemplates just how she should die.

After all, dying is the last step in activating the Super Original serum.

She’ll be “unable to end despair.”

Sick of listening to him talk, she stakes him in the throat.

Thankfully, Cami and Hayley are right outside planning their rescue mission.

But when Lucien starts a fight, it’s Freya who once again saves the day.

Trapping Lucien with her sigil, she brings in a large number of Strix members.

Yeah, she brought back-up.

But when Hayley has her hand on Aurora’s heart, Klaus stops her.

Killing Aurora will only make her into a Super Original.

And in Hayley’s brief hesitation, Aurora snaps her neck.

So which woman should Aurora kill first?

Klaus' baby mama … or the “woman of your dreams?”

Aurora chooses Cami, forcing her inside Lucien’s apartmentwhich she hasn’t been invited into.

Thankfully, Cami fights back in just enough time for Hayley to wake up.

Together, they tranquilize Aurora.

One epic fight later, and it’s clear that the Mikaelsons aren’t going to win this one.

With that, Elijah throws Lucien across the room and grabs Freya and runs.

Once again feeling rejected, heartbroken, and vengeful, Lucien heads to Cami’s apartment.

Putting the apartment in her neighbor’s name … because Lucien simply kills her neighbor.

Then he bites Cami.

(And clearly, Hayley’s delivering the same message to Elijah.)

And to his credit, Kol tries.

These witches really thought of everything.

(Seriously, this job has some serious turnover.)
