The midseason finale flashes back to Mindy’s first day at Schulman & Associates.

But the two call a truce for the sake of Babys First Christmas.

Curious, considering they hated each other.

The year: 2007.

The place: the longest elevator ride ever.

Mindy experiences Dannys trademark grump while he finds himself on the receiving end of her relentless chatter.

He asks Dr. Schulman why he hired her, and he admits it was an accident.

So Danny schemes to make her quit instead.

But even with the clutter and the lack of a working computer, Mindy remains optimistic.

Jeremy pays her a visit, all charm and smolder and winks, but Mindy rejects him.

How weird is it to see the old Jeremy?

His character has changed so much I cant believe he and Mindy used to have bedroom dates.

Mindy hides behind his desk and almost avoids discovery until she breaks his reading glasses.

Another strike against Mindy.

A little harsh, no?

Mindy, forgetting too late that its Jeremys computer, agrees and keeps up the charade.

He confronts Mindy about it, tells her she was hired by accident, and says shes a joke.

But still, she quits, knowing that she cant work in such an awful environment.

I could maybe be like that, Danny offers.

And thats the story of how Mindy met Danny.

Present-day Mindy is thinking about that memory when she cant sleep at night.

She climbs out of bed, watches over Leo, and then takes out the tape measurer.

And thats it for the first half of the season.

What are your predictions?

Are you fed up with Danny or do you think the relationship can be fixed?

Did this episode make you want to rewatch the first season?
