Whats different about creating music forThe 100?

Every moment is super high stakes.

Theres no filler and that is a challenge, but its also a lot of fun.

How closely do you work with Jason when youre writing the music?

I have a lot of different themes that we reprise, whether they be character-specific or relationship-specific.

Some of those themes are built on a melodic motif that will evolve over time throughout the story.

Tell me about Clarke and Lexas theme.

I like Clarke/Lexa music because it has a lot of emotion in it.

I think thats a really interesting combination to have in one melody.

Was the Clarke/Lexa theme playing during Lexas death?

Im reprising that melody.

Also high stakes in episode Thirteen: the end of the world.

That was a super powerful scene, no doubt.

That is our tragic theme that we reprise, which is basically a variation on our heroic theme.

It was a great opportunity for me to drop in some of the thematic material that weve been laying.

The 100airs Thursdays at 9 p.m.

ET on The CW.
