Stephen Colbert could be returning to cable for election night.
The deal is not yet final, they noted, but they expect it will happen.
Itll be interesting to see what Colbert does with no commercial breaks, no language restrictions.

The thought is do a live special, itll be Colbert unfettered.
Hes promised hell say a couple curse words… Hes excited about it.
Hes never done that before.
Thatll be a new thing.
Were working very hard to do [the special], which would be excellent, Nevins added.
I think its going to happen.
Stephen wants to do it, I want to do it, the studio wants to do it.
Were figuring it out.
Hes not on CBS that night anyway.
I think itll be really fun.
Colbert is currently the host of CBSThe Late Show.
Both CBS and Showtime are owned by CBS Corp., so the special keeps him in the corporate family.
