Stephen Colbert, for one, worked with his team to turn theLate Showset purple for the evening.
Colbert also brought bandleader Jon Batiste to the couch to tell his story of working with Prince.
According to Batiste, Prince had a special talent for commanding a room and for spotting unwelcome cellphones.
