Postal Service has announced a set of four newStar Trekstamps, slated for a 2016 release, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the television shows premiere.
Featuring designs by Heads of State, under the art direction of Antonio Alcala, the vintage-looking stamps depict four iconic images: TheStarship Enterpriseflying through the outline of a Starfleet insignia; a crewman in a transporter; a birds-eye view of theEnterprise; and theEnterpriseseen through the outline of a Vulcan salute.

Our stamps articulate the American experience through miniature works of art, said Acting Stamp Services Director Mary-Anne Penner in arelease.
Other space-related stamps for 2016 includeViews of Our Planets colorful images of Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune andPlutoExplored!, featuring a photo of the far planet taken by the New Horizons spacecraft.
