I definitely wasnt looking for an acting role on TV, says Lopez.
But NBCs response was really strong, and they were like, How are you not playing this role?
I was like, Oh, s, here we go, she recalls.
Its a hard gig, the hour drama.
But theres one reason why I did it: The material was so good.
At the end of the day, its based on society and whats happening.
The same could be said of Lopezs scrupulous attention to styling.
Its a total make-different, she says of the cropped do she sports.
My hair would still be curly, Id have cut it.
Im doing stuff Ive never done, she says.
