Theres no plotting afoot and no deep moral quandaries being puzzled.

Well, all except Wozniak.

Harlee stashes a portion of the money in a bag, then goes to see her old flame Nava.

She apologizes for accusing him of freeing Miguel to hurt her and burrows in for a hug.

But Donnie has to cut their call short when he opens the door to find Loman waiting for him.

Whatever hes doing, its certainly not legal.

Loman pulls his gun, but Donnie smooth talks him into coming inside for a little chat.

Then, the agent distracts Loman long enough to pull a gun.

Surprise, surprise, Cristinas gone.

Fearing Zepedas gotten to her, Harlee rushes out of Navas apartment, the assistant DA trailing behind.

Loman is officially a morally compromised cop now (if he wasnt already).

The detective may just get there sooner than he thinks.

He didnt have to take Cristina: She called him to come get her.

Theyre old buddies by now.

Harlee is stricken to learn how her ex has wormed his way into Cristinas life without her knowing.

She finds Cristina and Zepedas mother down the block and forces her protesting daughter into her car.

This episode only puts Harlee more on edge, and she decides its time to pull the trigger.

Stahl is out of options, so he reluctantly agrees.

When theyre all in a room together, the Feds will swoop in.

It is more a verdict on the mans slow decline into immorality.

Unfortunately, Woz is aware of information Harlee isnt: Donnies dead, and Linklater fled the country.

That leaves just him to pin it all on.

There wont be any immunity.

She and Cristina will join him shortly.

Desperate, Harlee calls Stahl.

She tells him Donnie and Linklater are in the wind and Woz isnt returning her calls.

She wont be able to give him what she promised.

Instead, she makes a new deal: her crews immunity in exchange for her own.

(This decision seems at odds with Harlees entire philosophy.

She originally agreed to rat on her crew so she could stay out of jail to raise Cristina.

Now shes volunteered to get arrested and leave her daughter, to save her team.)

Harlee sits Cristina down before her arrest.

Its pretty much the same spiel shes been selling all season.

On cue, Harlee sister approaches them.

Harlee wont explain why or where shes going, but she sobs into her daughters hair before walking away.

Hes already got the cash and a bigger fish.

Behind her back, Woz took all the money, leaving Harlee just enough to pay for Cristinas college.

What Cristina is for Harlee, thats what Harlee is for Woz.

He couldnt let her get locked up he couldnt lose another daughter.

Im not buying Wozs sudden altruism, even if it is couched in the mantra of loyalty.

Harlee tries to convince Woz to change his mind, but its too late.

The police already have him.

Instead, Harlee walks into her kitchen…and finds Zepeda sitting at her table.

She reaches into her purse, but Zepeda already has her gun.

Paying him off had no effect, it seems.

He wont stop seeing Cristina.

In fact, he wont stop seeing either of them.

He wants his old life back, and that means he wants Harlee.

She refuses to give in to his demands, so he starts smacking her around.

Then he unties her robe.

Threatening Cristina is the one thing Harlee cannot abide.

Surely there must be some symbolism in that.

Bad bitch Harlee is back!

However, giving herself up also meant leaving Cristina an orphan, or worse, under Miguels influence.

Instead, Harlee stayed out of prison long enough to kill her controlling, violent ex.

Not a bad days work.

Thanks everyone for following along with me on this crazy, murderous journey that wasShades of Blues first season.

See you all back here for season 2!
