Despite only ever releasing one album, The Sex Pistols are one of the most influential bands in the history of punk rock.

Next year, fans will get an inside look into the machinations of this legendary group when guitarist Steve Jones releases his autobiography,Lonely Boy.

According to publisher Da Capo, the memoir (written with journalist Ben Thompson) will tell the modern Dickensian tale of Jones journey from an abusive childhood in West London to his iconic exploits with Johnny Rotten and Malcolm McLaren.

Steve Jones contribution to music history is invaluable, and his riffs changed the world forever, Da Capo executive editor Ben Schafer said in a statement.

Punk rock as we know it today would simply not exist without him.Lonely Boyis the true story of the origins of the Sex Pistols from the man himself.

Lonely Boywill be available stateside from Da Capo on Jan. 10, 2017, following its U.K. release from William Heinemann.
