Pets has a great premise, but its more busy than clever.

If, on the other hand, its sleazy kicks youre after, youll be in exploitation heaven.
It certainly isnt for the meandering story.
Parents looking for a 21st-century E.T.
That, in and of itself, is not something Im against.
But Emmerich and his army of screenwriters (including original co-writer Dean Devlin) dont even bother with that.
