(And dont overlook being the Republican frontrunner for president.)
People sometimes scoff at the opening monologue, but that introduction often sets the tone.
This is the guest hosts opportunity to shine, and theres literally no place to hide.
Those six minutes typically reveal where the rest of the show is heading.
Its the rare great show that follows a subpar intro.
So how to identify a greatSNLhost?

Its hardly an absolute science, but neither isSNL.
