EW has the exclusive first look at the beautiful covers
In honor of the 100th anniversary of Roald Dahls birth, Puffin will be publishing a set of Dahls classic childrens books with new collectible covers.
These collectible reissues will include five of Dahls best known titles:Matilda,Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator,James and the Giant Peach, andFantastic Mr. Fox.
All of the new covers have been illustrated by Dahls frequent collaborator, cartoonistQuentin Blake, and they feature iconic scenes or characters from the books in front of a bright, lively background color.
The new book covers are a part of a year-long celebration of Dahl by Penguin Young Readers and the Roald Dahl Literary Estate called Roald Dahl 100.
Other events coming up include Steven Spielbergs release of thebig-screen adaptation ofThe BFGon July 1, the release of a Roald Dahl dictionary in September, and a nationwide celebration in libraries and bookstores for Dahls birthday on September 16.
The newly designed hardcovers wont be available for purchase until September 6, but EW has your exclusive first look at them below.
