Ive had many different permutations of various types of ideas.
I even wanted to make anSLC Gothright away, orSLC Mod.
So Ive had the idea for a long time.
What can you tell us about the new characters?
Ross is a very goth, spooky kid.
Hes very reserved like, even goth kids are afraid of him.
Hes sort of Oscar Wilde-y.
Punks Deadwas partially funded by fans.
How did that go?
I mean theyre punks, and theyre young.
They actually became sort of the backbone, the support of the movie.
Theres no way I would have made the movie without these people.
In fact, I changed the script a lot based on feedback from social media.
Can you give an example?
[Laughs] In a way, theyre the people I answer to.
Thats my studio, these fans.
But I didnt want to just make anotherSLC Punk, I didnt want to regurgitate that.
So instead I made more of a spinoff or anthology.
Is it too early to start thinking about No.
I have a script for a thirdSLC Punk.
It would take a lot of money.
… Its Stevo-centric, the character that was played in [the first film] by Matthew Lillard.
That character, for me, went everywhere.
He left Salt Lake and experienced the whole world.
Ive got him all over the place.
