Its been 23 years since Emmy-winner and Oscar-nominee Bryan Cranstons voice appeared in thePower RangersTV series, and now the actor is teasing details of the character hes playing in the upcoming cinematic reboot.

After lending his voice (uncredited) to villains like Tinman and Snizard across two 1993 episodes of the Fox Kids program, it wasannouncedearlier in June that Cranstons role in thePower Rangersseries had been upgraded to that of Zordon, a mentor to the teenage gang of do-gooders tasked with saving the world from an alien invasion led by the evil Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks).

Its motion capture, and its a lot of CGI-work, the formerBreaking Badstar toldEntertainment Tonightof his part in the film, which is based on a character who appeared throughout the original TV series as a disembodied head communicating with the Rangers as a hologram.

Cranston further elaborated on the characters backstory: The tenant of that storyline is that this a real person who is trapped in this etherworld and it becomes this in-the-wall so to speak of [the command center], he revealed.

He still has a heart and mind, but an agenda that hes got to get these five Power Rangers to defend the earth or else everyone they know will be killed.

In addition toBanksand Cranston in supporting parts,Power Rangersstars singer Becky G, Dacre Montgomery, Ludi Lin, RJ Cyler, and Naomi Scott as the central heroes, whileProject Almanacs Dean Israelite is directing.
