Its a bloodbath, as usual.

In other words,Person of Interestis about to head into its biggest battle yet.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: This is going to be the final battle against Samaritan.

What can fans expect?

That just means [the fans] are invested, and thats good.

Its a good thing.

Listen, its a bloodbath as usual, but I still feel its bittersweet.

For me, its the right ending and a powerful one.

Will the hour kill the series biggest loops and wrap up all the stories?

Will there be even more questions raised afterward or any cliffhangers headed our way?

Theres a sense of resolution.

I think its pretty definitive.

NOLAN:[There are] no cliffhangers this year, no uncertainty.

We didnt think that would be fair.

You say this finale will be a bloodbath.

What is the headspace for each of the members of Team Machine going into the finale?

Its a sacrifice hes willing to make for the greater good of everyone.

Theres a bit of a different side of his character, who we think is a lot of fun.

I think Shaw is now just coming to grips with reality.

Coming back from all the simulations, she now realizes whats at stake in the present world.

Tell me more about the final showdown, the final fight between the ASIs.

What else will we see, other than armageddon?

NOLAN:[Laughs.]

Its gonna be like two cats in a bag.

The arena theyre fighting on is land, sea, air, space…

I mean, these are two titans.

These guys square off globally, which is very fun.

Thats the first priority, to make the show entertaining, but also to tackle the shows complex themes.

Its thought-provoking, and I think the thing Im most proud of is it was entertaining to the end.

We definitely had more stories to tell, but theres nothing incomplete about this last season.

Were happy that we were able to tell the end of our story.

We loved making this show, we love this cast, and we love this crew and the writers.

We love the fans we were writing for.

We would have happily kept on going, but 103 episodes is a big, long run.

What is the main takeaway you want viewers to have after watching the finale?

NOLAN:Most definitely, yeah.

I think its gonna rear its head in some fascinating ways beyondPerson of Interest.
