If Dunbar can find out the true reason for the visit, perhaps she can use it as leverage. After all, everyone on this show loves leverage....

Its not just the familiar players getting in on the action, though. Claires mother, Elizabeth, seems to be shaping up to be a major part of this season. John Carlyle, starts off Chapter 42. Hes washing rental cars for a living now. He stuffs the Dunbar article in his pocket and gets back to work. Credit: Netflix Leann knows just how bad its getting. Leann figured as much, but its nice to have the numbers to back up her gut instinct. Those numbers allow Claire to feel emboldened. She snaps a few pictures of something in the box, but we dont know what it is....

I was starting to get worried thatHouse Of Cardshad lost some of its spark in its fourth season. Wash, rinse, repeat. Thankfully, Chapter 43 changes everything. Doug will get in touch with Leann and offer her a position as Franks campaign manager....

Hes still on the brink of death, and hes starting to have vivid hallucinations. Frank has no idea whats going on, his brain still lingering on the traumatic shooting. Outside of the hospital, Doug is in full-on panic mode. Credit: Netflix That panic is exacerbated when FBI agent Nathan Green comes to him with the evidence from Lucas Goodwins apartment. Its explosive stuff, and Doug needs to keep it quiet....

Before Frank gets healthy though, he has to go through quite a bit of turmoil. These visions represent Frank on the brink of losing his life. His liver is failing. Still, the deal has to be ratified at the G7 Summit and thats not going to be easy....

Chapter 46 sees the Underwoods back to their scheming ways because they have a new foe to take on. Thats okay, because its exactly what Frank wanted. Frank dangles the potential nomination of Blythe in front of his advisers and members of the Democratic party. Essentially, theyll make his book an instant bestseller. Back at the White House, Frank has approached Sen. Dean Austin about being his running mate. As usual, Claire delivers quite the performance. As for Yates, hes smart enough to know not to commit to the Conways right away....

Chapter 48 changes all of that, forcing the Underwoods to scramble as the season rolls on. That means that the collective Democratic party will choose Franks running mate. The first hint we get that Claire is moving towards being Franks running mate comes from Donald Blythe....

Its the perfect setting for the kind of campy, twisty, backstabbing-filled stories the show loves to tell. After Cathys big play in the previous episode, things arent looking good for Frank. With support for everyone but Frank gaining, the president needs to make a move. Credit: Netflix His recent meeting with Conway and the threat of ICO presents the perfect opportunity. Of course, Cathy isnt going to just sit back and let her potential nomination slip away....
