What case could possibly justify two straight hours of investigation? The woman scrambles down the fire escape and finds her way to Sherlock and Joans brownstone. Now, she needs help. Credit: Jeff Neira/CBS She fills the detectives in on whats going down and why she hasnt gone to the police. She believes that someone was coming after her, trying to frame her for robbing her own game. One of the first suspects is Sophia, who was the dealer during the game....

Its also the first that doesnt in any way reckon with Sherlocks potentially criminal actions from last season. The episode begins with Sherlock and Watson handcuffed to chairs in their brownstone. At the hospital, a lab tech in the fertility clinic named Abby Campbell has gone missing....

Morland insists its all been dealt with and that everything is fine. Sherlocks response: Well, youre lying. Of course, hes not wrong. Credit: CBS As he looks across to the next apartment, though, he gets a completely different surprise. A few floors up, he sees a man shoot and kill another man. The two arent mutually exclusive, he says. Joan informs him that theyve received a call about investigating a murder from two weeks back....

In my defense, I was watching the episode with headphones on and on my laptop. Omar Valez, a homeless man, was stabbed and killed and then dumped in a park. That question sets the coroner off. Credit: CBS On the other side of a creek is a piece of police tape and the marks of police-issued footwear. That seems like more than a coincidence. This time she insists she actually needs Joans help....

Of course, Sherlock is hesitant because every deal with his father comes with some sort of hidden agenda. Plus, he has great gratitude for Watson. Hes being chased by… something. Its growling; its vision is strange. Its clearly some sort of animal, but what? His wallet lies in the middle of the road, his I.D. boasting a familiar name in the Sherlock Holmes canon: Charles Baskerville....

Thats the throw in of setup thatElementaryusually has success with, and Miss Taken is no exception. That would explain the pepper spray and intimacy of the crime. Thus, the first person to question must be Underhills wife, Sheila. Credit: Michael Parmelee/CBS Sherlock quickly rules out Sheila though, as she has an alibi for the night her husband was murdered. Meanwhile, Joan confronts her father about the book that he wrote....

Thankfully, hes not dead or anything. So perceptive, that Sherlock. So no, Clyde isnt dead, but there are a number of human bodies piling up this week. Credit: Michael Parmelee/CBS As the killers flee, something happens to their car. The question is who would have wanted him dead. Those questions lead Sherlock to bring in Mason, his handy tech guru. He finds a signature buried in the code that connects to a hacker nicknamed Mittens....

Though, of course, Joans continuing investigation of Morland must wait until next time. Vincent is missing now, and Mr. Springer wants him found because he wants some sort of vigilante justice. The first place Sherlock looks is Vincents personal life. Credit: Michael Parmelee/CBS Who gives a medical degree to such a person!?!? For the most part, Vincents disappearance seems normal, or at least not deadly. Her name is Julie, and shes a pharmaceutical rep that comes around the office from time to time....

Tag, Youre Me begins with one of the more fascinating opening segments Ive seen onElementary. The shooter, completely confused, shoots and kills the other man, as well. He says he cant know for sure because Tim was adopted. Credit: Jeff Neira/CBS NEXT: Its an 80s movie, right? While this investigation is underway, Sherlock is also dealing with his father. With that dinner done, Sherlock gets back to the case. After questioning Tofano, Watson and Bell figure that hes not the top suspect....

As he rounds the corner, he sees bodies lying on the ground. He takes out his earbuds and hears gunshots. From inside a building, a man is murdering people one by one. Credit: CBS Once finished, he takes off his gloves and leaves everything behind. Its a stunning, scary sequence that immediately injects this episode with a sense of urgency. The other thing that does that is the presence of Morland Holmes....

Hes come to visit Joan, but also to check in on Sherlock. Joan assures him hes fine, but its still a worrisome pattern that she needs to ask him about. Then, we get to this weeks case. Credit: CBS The man gets up and turns the gas stove and space heater off. The man in the hoodie begins pouring gasoline over everything and then burns the place to the ground....

So, he thinks its best to just keep pursuing the new head of the organization in private. Things change though when a bomb goes off at Morlands workplace, killing some of Morlands employees.
