As the new Dark One, Hook puts his master plan into place… with some help from Rumple.

Which is good because those memories are definitely going to come in handy with what currently is threatening Storybrooke… Oh, and hes also re-lived all of his worst dark memories in preparation for his new role.

Then again, Dark Ones never seem to go about their work quietly.
Rumple immediately goes to Regina and Co. and brings up Merlins message/Nimue, which Emma recognizes.
The nail in this coffin is when Henry wanders in and refuses to aid in Emmas request.

After all, it was Henrys love that saved Regina and made her a good person.
But if Regina can overcome her darkness, anyone can.

Rumple meets Hook on the ship, where hes forced to abandon his cane and fight dirty.
Or, you know, for the people he loves.
Like Emma, like Hook, theres the issue of trust when it comes to them.
See, to get his revenge on Rumple, Hook needs to get back to Storybrooke.
But to get back at all, the spell involves crushing the heart of the thing they love most.
Hook steals Merlins heart, and then Nimue appears.
How is that for coincidence?
Ah, good wizard.

And once she does, she realizes she knows exactly what Hook is doing.
We see Hook and Dark One!Rumple at a lake, which holds the portal to the Underworld.
How do you open it?
With a drop of Rumples blood.
Its okay that Rumples not really dead because itll seem like he is.
No, its Nimue and the rest of the Dark One Army.
