The deal also includes ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’
NBCUniversal announced Monday that they had acquired the rights to all of the films in J.K. Rowlings Wizarding World franchise, which includes not just the eightHarry Potterfilms but also the upcomingFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Themspin-offs.
The deal gives NBC Universal the right to air the films across all of their television channels, including SyFy and USA web link, through April 2025.
In the announcement, NBCUniversal promised that they will also bring viewers extra content like directors cut versions of the first twoHarry Potterfilms and 3D versions of the last two.

Beyond film, the deal also opens up the possibility ofHarry Potter-themed events at Universal theme parks, as well as joint digital ventures with Pottermore.

A representative from Freeform confirmed to EW that the channel, which previously aired numerousHarry Pottermovie marathons, will no longer be able to after NBCUniversals window of exclusivity begins in 2018.
