Dash’s latest vision puts Vega on a dangerous path one that might lead to her father’s killer.

This weeks episode ofMinority Reportwas called The Present, so naturally, we start in the past.

Its 2048, to be exact, in the last months of the pre-PreCrime era.

This is the dear, departed dad of Detective Lara Vega, and were about to watch him die.

Theres a strange noise nearby, and then out of the rain, a gun appears.

End flashback, roll title credits.

Aaaand were back, in the post-PreCrime present, a.k.a.

(Dial it back, Aggie.

Youre getting a little intense.)

(Sidenote: Is this an overly optimistic timeline?

Were those recordings saved?

Wally doubts it, but I doubt Wally.

Vega, youre the victim, Dash gasps.

And then they cut to commercial, presumably so we can all scream in horror.

NEXT: Done screaming?

Good, theres a murder to investigate.

Vega is the only one not freaking out about the fact that shes been potentially pre-murdered.

Im the worst friend ever!)

Dash is really upset.

Dash punches Arthur in the mouth.

And she takes him down, again, in a highly embarrassing (for him) manner, again.

According to the deputy director, the lost murdervisions only exist in one place: inside the precogs heads.

Which is technically three places, dude, but whatever.

The bad news: Dash doesnt remember Vegas dads death.

The good news is, he could!

And Wally just happens to have a BIMR under his stairs, so thats convenient.

Cue the Convincing-Arthur-to-Help-Us scene: This time, its Vega who goes to see him.

Dash has told her about Agathas vision, and she promises Arthur she would never betray them.

Arthur finally gives in, but only because its your damn birthday.

(You hear that, Vega?

Because its your birthday!

And definitely not because we participate in this ridiculous charade every single week, with the same results!)

Eventually, Dash and Arthur find Vegas dad in their psychic archives.

And theyve seen her before.

And Winters doesnt deny it, but she doesnt confess, either.

Another twist: Nobody ever thought to wonder if Vega might actually be the killer.

Realizing how close she is to taking an innocent life, Vega puts her gun down.

So does the kid.

No doubt, Vega will chase this lead, too, with the help of Dash and Arthur.

But for now, its time to go home.

Its her birthday, and theres a cupcake waiting.

Dash has a last word of advice: When you get home, grab the chair.

They hug and cry.

Its over, says Mom.

And so is this episode.

But for Vega, the hunt for her fathers killer has only just begun.
