Though reports speculating about McCarthys return toSaturday Night Livecirculated last week and EW first caught wind of itin late February her stint wasnt officially confirmed until Saturdays show.SNLalso confirmed that French rock band Phoenix will serve as its next musical guest.
McCarthy earnedrave reviewsandimpressive ratingswhen she hostedSNLfor the first time in October 2011, just a few weeks after nabbing a Best Actress Emmy for her work onMike & Molly.

Her latest film,Identity Thief, is the biggest box-office hit of the young year, with more than $116 million in grosses; the stars next movie, a buddy-cop comedy calledThe Heatcostarring Sandra Bullock, is expected June 28.
Phoenix, too, has something major to promote: its upcoming fifth studio album,Bankrupt!, which drops April 22.
