Mel Gibson claims he could have played Thor's father

But, according to Mel Gibson, he could have been the one playing that intergalactic patriarch.

During an interview withThe Guardian, Gibson was asked if he was ever approached for a superhero film.

Yeah, long time ago, to play Thors dad, he said.

But I didnt do it.

The actor was also asked what he thinks of the current wave of superhero movies.

Some are good, Gibson toldThe Guardian.

Some are kind of funny …Guardians of the Galaxy.

Or the firstIron Man.

And some of them are just like [retreads].

I mean you’ve got the option to watch them do Spider-Man five times …

There is a slight shift in film.

Its a different kind of business these days.
