ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: What attracted you to this project?

MATTHEW FOX:I have always wanted to do a western.

Its been on my list of things that I would like to accomplish while Im in this business.

Ive always loved westerns, and then this script (byBone Tomahawkdirector S. Craig Zahler) came along.

So it was a no-brainer.

The fact that Im in a western with Kurt Russell is pretty cool

Tell me about your role.

Hes a very mysterious character.

His names John Brooder.

Hes a very well-dressed gentleman, and a bit threatening.

Theres some people taken from the town abducted and he volunteers to go along and assist.

We dont really know all that much about why.

All of that is sort of revealed in the arc of the story.

Craigs a first-time director.

Whats it been like to work with him?

Weve had a lot of fun and he absolutely knows what he wants.

So its been fantastic, so far.

Other than the heat, really.

The heat has been oppressive.

Well, its actually nice to be on outside on a day like this.

So, its nice to be outside and catch a little bit of a breeze.

So, this is good!

Whats it been like working with Richard Jenkins?

He doesnt, in real-life, seem to be as comfortable on his horse as the rest of you.

Oh, itsperfectfor the character.

And [our characters] immediately get into a little bit of a jousting match.
