Kelly Clarkson's second children's book is on the way

‘River Rose and the Magical Christmas’ will be published in October

Kelly Clarkson is going back to the inkwell.

The pop singer announced Wednesday that her second childrens book,River Rose and the Magical Christmas, will be published by HarperCollins in the fall.

Due Oct. 24, the picture book finds River Rose (a characterinspired by Clarksons young daughter) being swept up in an adventure to the North Pole.Magical Christmasis illustrated by Lucy Fleming and marks Clarksons follow-up to last yearsRiver Rose and the Magical Lullaby, which became a best-seller.

Clarkson broke the news with a humorous video posted to social media, above, adding shell be releasing an original Christmas song to go with the book.

TheAmerican Idolchamp is also working on her eighth studio album and willserve as a coachon the 14th season ofThe Voice.
