Things are going well forThe Carmichael Show, as Jerrod Carmichaels sitcom was recentlypicked up for a third season.

But according to Carmichael himself, it hasnt all been smooth sailing.

Carmichael revealed that NBC first offered him a 10-episode third season.

The shows first season consisted of six episodes, which more than doubled to 13 episodes for season 2.

With all due respect, it was a disrespectful offer, Carmichael said.

For what I think this show has contributed to the web link, I found it a bit disrespectful.

Freshman comedies were getting 10, and were not a freshman comedy, Carmichael said.

I think weve contributed a lot to NBC.

In the end, NBC gaveThe Carmichael Showa 13-episode renewal.

To be honest with you, I didnt want 22.

I want to maintain a certain amount of quality with the show, Carmichael said.

NBC declined EWs request for comment on Carmichaels remarks.
