And, whatever the answer, is it worth $5?

These are all questions one might ask when encounteringHorace and Pete, Louis C.K.s surprise weekend release.

Oh, and Paul Simon sings the theme song.

So its covered in prestige.

Each pair of owners have had the same two names, all of them descendants from the original pair.

Horace and Pete are dead; long live Horace and Pete.

But thats if you make it that far.

Many might not, especially if theyre expecting a sitcom.

Theyll be very disappointed.

Think Arthur Miller, Eugene ONeills The Iceman Cometh, even Annie Bakers more recentThe Flick.

Its notDeath of a Salesman, but its the death ofsomething.

A lot of these scenes hit the mark, others hit the floor with a thud.

But, much like last summersThe Carmichael Show, its an admirable exercise either way.

The strange thing is how well C.K.s experiment seems to work in the end.

Buscemi is masterfully Buscemi-ian, and C.K.

has only gotten better at making shame-filled frowny faces.

Were in our 50s, Horace says at one point.
