Having Tally come back into the picture at this point in the series feels very fitting.
It turns out Tallys life isnt as great Hannah thought it was.
But it is Marnie.

If only Elijahs love life was going as smoothly as Marnies.
Elijah decides its time to really tell Dill how he feels.
But Dill rejects him, saying hes looking for someone less aimless.
I just want to be happy, Elijah says as he snuggles up to Hannahs father.
Tad says he feels like hes just starting his life.
So shes decided to tell a story about them at the Moth.
Speaking of Jessa and Adam, their relationship hits a rough patch tonight.
Actually, rough doesnt even begin to describe it.
Jessa wants to talk about Hannah, but Adam refuses.
Hannah is my dearest friend.
She will always come first.
We may not be talking right now, and I hope to God that that changes.
So you saying shes not in our lives anymore doesnt work for me, yells Jessa.
She adds that shell always hate Adam for turning her into someone who steals other peoples boyfriends.
Thats when things hit the fan in the apartment, almost literally.
Their fight ends with Jessa locking herself in the bathroom and Adam punching his way through the door.
Adam and Jessas relationship feels the personification of that Kanye West song Bittersweet.

This scene might be the highlight of the season, both in terms of writing and directing.
The camera slowly dollies in as Hannah gets on stage and starts sharing.

I mean that sincerely.

However, she heard them fighting and was relieved to not be inside there.
Then theres Tad, who shows up at the door of the guy he slept withearlier in the season.
Hannahs mom and Elijah share a cute moment.
No matter how hard they try, these two kids cant take stay away from each other.
The fifth season ofGirlsends on a very optimistic note, which feels sort of new for the series.
