But this year, as I opened the scripts, its so exciting because nobody knows whats happening.

Why do you think people are going to hate it?
Just that they dont know whats going to happen.
I know the showrunners dont take [criticism] personally any more and thats nice.
Ah, yeah, the outrage meter went to 11 last season.
Whats cool is the showrunners do not care.
They didnt set out to make a replica of the books.
Im in love with the work theyve done and Im in love with the work George R.R.
Martin has done theyre different things.
People are like: Im never watching again!
But they so are.
But I used to get so upset by that!

Id get really upset that people would feel like that.
But now I see through it and it excites me a little.

I dont think Ive seen you asked about that before…
I got asked in one of my first interviews: Is Arya a feminist?
I didnt even know what a feminist was.
You were like 12!
And then someone explained it to me.
And I remember thinking, Isnt that just like everyone?
And then I realized everyone is not a feminist, unfortunately.
You are either a normal person or a sexist.
People get a label when theyre bad.
Because it works the other way, as well.
A lot of men have it hard too.
But its the same as the boys and the girls and the men and the animals.
The themes are very dark.
I get it that people dont want to watch scenes like that.
I understand, and you shouldnt have to.
But thats the show that weve made, and I have no control over whats written.
I think its upsetting that so many people have found it upsetting.
But I find a lot of things upsetting to watch.I get upset when animals get slaughtered.
And lots of people are like, Butthisis worse thanthat and I never understood that.
I think everybodys allowed to be upset about what theyre upset by.
Its very easy to have an opinion.
But its very difficult to speak up about difficult subjects when people are angry with you.
People say: Why dont you speak up!
[and Im thinking], Because you all got pitchforks and youre ready to kill us!
Its scary if you say something wrong.
Maybe I just have to get a backbone.
And theres something not right there.
Yeah, sometimes its men too.
But there are women who are just nasty.
Im trying to do the best I can.
I got a voice.
I believe in equality and I know I have more power than the average person to reach people.
And I just get petrified in case people are rude.
You dont want to put yourself through that.

You meet a lot of people in general meetings that dont go anywhere.

This year, fans were in the bushes with cameras trying to find spoiler footage.
Its amazing and shty.
But theres no point in getting caught up about every little thing.
Then theres no point in doing this job at all.
What kind of reactions did you get to the end of last season?
People dont realize last season Arya went blind.
Last season people asked: Is she dead?
Im all, No, shes blind.
Its too easy to kill her.
If theres one thing weve learned fromGame of Thronesits that death is the easy way out.
Theyre gonna keep her and make her have a st time.
I was so up for the contacts.
I love having something weird going on on the set.
Theres never a day where I just sat and did dialogue theres always something going on.
Then I realized they were the most painful things ever.
I didnt anticipate theyd get so sore after such little time.
And now I realize why people do [CGI] instead.
So if youre teasing the new season… She gets more action scenes this year…
And I love doing stunts.
Im so happy Ive got some again.
Last year, people have been like Aryas sweeping floors!
And everything I tweet theyre like, Oysters, clams and cockles!
Its part of the training okay?
Its what goes into that.
And this year there is more of that, but its also more exciting.
Any final season 6 thoughts?
This year is so great because weve whittled it down.
you’ve got the option to see the final storylines forming.
We lost a lot of people last year and that makes it really exciting.
There are fewer people on Aryas list.
But theres also fewer people to fight for the throne.
