So how did the cast and crew pull off that epic thank you video for #MoreGalavant?
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: What was your response when you first heard about the #MoreGalavant campaign?
CHRIS KOCH: The first thing I would say is, be careful what you wish for.
[laughs] Its an incredibly difficult production.
But really, its an incredible program.
Its just really nice to see so many people rise up and ask for more.
It just makes us feel great.
[laughs]
GENEVIEVEALLENBURY:Youre not supposed to tell them that!
Ill see to it to keep it under wraps.
KOCH: It saved us so much money.
Weve surpassed 16k now.
Im actually going to be dropping this off at Kochers place.
Its so wonderful to see.
I think the proofs in the pudding.
By the way, we felt so badly about the sheets that we planted several trees.
Its for your audience and it always has to be for your audience.
So many people have bared their souls with how this show has affected them.
A girl in Australia who suffers from bi-polar disorder said that this is the show that raises her up.
Were talking about people being changed on core levels and revealing that.
I find that very humbling.
It was shocking just seeing people all the way in Australia just reaching out.
KOCH: It really is incredible because you dont know how this will affect people.
That was the resounding comment from viewers.
All shows want to have this effect but not many truly get to see it happen.
ALLENBURY:Its the emotional universality of it.
These are people from all over the world with different cultures and ages.
What were hearing is that viewers are really responding to our show.
Like you said, not a lot of shows get to have that opportunity.
ALLENBURY:Theres so much reality television out there where so much is revealed.
The video has so many amazing cameos like Billy Boyd, Mark Hamill, and Weird Al Yankovic.
How did they get involved?
DAVID: I showed a little leg and tried to bribe them.
One viewer tweeted Mark Hamill and said, Have you seen this show calledGalavant?
So when that started the whole community ofGalavantfans were tweeting all of us asking, Did you see this?
The next thing I know, he started tweeting us back.
If I could be so bold for a second, and then explained the video plan.
Once he was on board it was a lot easier because other people started showing their support as well.
Al Yankovic came back right away and sent us something.
We managed to get a hold of Billy who ended up being a huge fan.
Weve always thought of Billy as part of the world, though.
We thought it would be funny to flash to him after more hobbit jokes.
KOCH: Its also crazy that so many people are watching it in areas that it wasnt broadcast.
Im not sure how theyre watching it though.
DAVID: Well theres this huge fan base that were only just finding out about.
Everything has been seen over there because its on the Internet.
Theres a frustration that weve been able to capitalize on.
