And then there was Strand, who was reunited with his love Thomas.

But Abigail had been bitten and was at deaths door.

Also, what is with creepy Chris, Salazars flashbacks, and Nicks new bond with Celia?

We went toFearshowrunner Dave Erickson for answers.

Then the parishioners and choirboys all go outside, pick up weapons, and start dying.

We learn that Abigails mother, Celia, has poisoned them because she doesnt want them killing the infected.

Lets just start right there.

What is going on with this woman and her beliefs when it comes to zombies and the afterlife?

For her, theyre still worth protecting, and theyre worth saving, and worth loving.

Is this her own little cult or something?

Not a cult so much.

I think its a religious extension if you will.

It speaks to her belief system.

Lets get into the whole Chris thing.

What the hell is going on with this guy?

Chris is not in a good place.

And now Travis has to reconcile what everyone else is saying with what Chris is saying.

And unfortunately, everything he does, in an effort to improve that, it sort of backfires.

Theres more to be explained when we get to the finale.

And Celia tells him later, you gotta make peace with your dead, old man.

What are you afraid of?

What can you tell us about Daniels past that we see cropping up in his subconscious?

And with Daniel, really it started when he saw that little boy in episode 2.

Its a small moment there, but he is shaken by that.

Then in episode 5, of course, he heard a voice for the first time.

Why is Madison so untrustworthy right off the bat?

Well, its interesting because you keep going back to that initial battle at the church.

Part of what hes doing to a certain extent, hes trying to find his place in this world.

Why is this happening?

And she gives him an answer in a way that any seeker needs.

She gives him an answer and says that theyre not dead.

So his feelings are validated to a certain degree.

She sees somebody who, instead of pushing drugs, is pushing death, and that scares her.

Celia makes them some poisoned wafers.

What makes Strand at first want to kill himself, and why does he ultimately change his mind?

I think theres two ways to look at that.

And Abigail is trying to hold on because he doesnt want to leave Victor.

I think in the moment that Abigail agreed to it, the different side of Strand kicked in.

And it begs to question: Was he saying it strictly to con Abigail closer to death?

Was he doing it as a mercy just so he would let go?

Did he ever intend to take the wafer for himself?

He loves this man very much, but didnt quite love him enough to die with him.

And I guess the next question is: How is Celia going to react to that?

We end the episode with a gunshot, which is going to galvanize the compound and everyone in it.

Any other teases it’s possible for you to give us for next weeks midseason finale?

Its going to be big.

There are actually some very significant movements thatll play out.

Everything that weve been laying track for, a good deal of it will be paid off.

So well see how they manage to attempt to stay in the vineyard.
