‘Mr.
Misunderstood’ paid tribute to the late great non-country stars during his performance
Eric Church broke out of the country sphere during Sundays ACM Awards when, during his performance, he paid tribute to four non-Nashville musical legends who died recently: Motorhead frontmanLemmy,David Bowie, the EaglesGlenn Frey, andStone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland.
Beginning with his own song, Record Year, Church then played portions of Motorheads Ace Of Spades, Bowies Fame, and the Eagles Already Gone, while photos of the four stars were projected behind him.

Church was anearly ACM winnerand picked up awards for video of the year (Mr. Misunderstood) before the show began.
He was also up for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.
