Disney Channel’s sequel to 2010 big-screen hit will debut next year

Last summer, Disney Channels upcoming animated seriesTangled: Before EverAfterrecruitedMandy Moore and Zachary Levito reprise theirTangledroles as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, respectively.

And now, the show that will serve as a sequel to 2010s hit animated film which was loosely based on the Rapunzel fairy tale has added a few more actors to its cast: 17, to be precise.

Tuesdays news brings aboard not only three more cast members from the feature film Jeffrey Tambor as Big Nose, Paul F. Tompkins as Shorty and M.C.

Gainey as Captain of the Guard but also Ashley Judd as Rapunzels mother, Queen Arianna.Wickeds Eden Espinosa will play Rapunzels handmaiden, Cassandra; Jeff Ross will tackle the role of Hook Hands brother, Hook Foot; and Richard Kind will voice Uncle Monty in this show, whose events take place afterTangledbut before the 2012 short filmTangled Ever After.

Tangled: Before Ever Afterwill also feature: Sean Hayes as Pete the Guard; Peter MacNicol as Nigel the Advisor; Jeremy Jordan as teen alchemist Varian; Jonathan Banks as Varians father, Quirin; Diedrich Bader as Stan the Guard; Charles Halford as Pub Thug Vladimir; Steve Blum as Pub Thug Attila Buckethead; and James Monroe Iglehart as Eugenes friend, Lance Strongbow.

Gainey wont be the only cast member with aLostconnection: Clancy Brown has come aboard as Rapunzels father, King Frederic, while Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will voice blacksmith Xavier.

Scheduled to debut in 2017,Tangled: Before Ever Afterchronicles the adventures of Rapunzel as she acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom, and the citizens of Corona.

The show, which is being executive produced by Chris Sonnenberg (Enchanted), will include music by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater, who created the movies original score.
