In the firstDeadpool, Weasel acts as Wade Wilsons (a.k.a.
Deadpools) dry-witted sidekick who has little desire to actually get his hands dirty.
But Miller is hoping future chapters of the franchise allow the character to start packing heat.

They announced that theyre going to do [the sequel], says Miller.
I keep asking them to give Weasel some guns.
I think that would be really fun.
Because eventually in the comic book he becomes a superhero but, like, not a great one.
Hes like, Im going to be the Penetrator.
Were going to penetrate injustice!
And people are like, I dont think thats a great name.
And Im like, Why?
It makes perfect sense.
I think the physical comedy in action sequences is fantastic.
Like21 Jump Streetdid a great job with that.
So thats kind of what I would like forDeadpool 2.
I hope that people love this one so much that theyre kind of clamoring for it, says Miller.
Because then well make a second one and then a third one.
you’re free to do stuff that is totally askew.
you’re free to do things that are of a tone that people rarely see.
And it can be successful.
I think thats good for the film industry.
