The artist tribute will come out in November, and thats gonna be an oversized art book.
Weve given them a new opportunity to showcase their work and fandom as well.
What was your role in overseeing this project?

Cory Godbey
We realized, my assistant editor and I, that the 30th anniversary was this year.
As a fan myself, I wanted to generate material that I knew that I would want.
Thats where theArtist Tributecame from.
Any particular reason you focus on the ancillary characters?
Thirty years later, what sticks aboutLabyrinth?
I think its the ideas of growing up, struggling with who you are and family dynamics.
Sarah is someone who feels neglected by her parents.
Thats something that continues to resonate thematically.
You have this huge lush world.
No one had ever really made a film like this.
Whats the fun part of illustrating these Henson puppets?
They throw ideas out too.
It feels very collaborative and honest.
What was your favorite thing you saw over the course of this?
Theres still a lot more to delve into.
Im very excited about new programming well be launching in the next couple years.
But right now, having any involvement withLabyrinthhas been really special.
Did that add a special resonance to this project for you?
So yeah, its been emotional.
Its something you wish he couldve participated in and have a voice in.
