Charles Osgood announced on Sunday that he isretiring as anchor of CBSSunday Morningafter a 22-year run on the broadcast.
His final broadcast as anchor will be Sept. 25.
Some of you may have heard rumors lately that I wont be hosting theseSunday Morningbroadcasts very much longer.

Well, Im here to tell you that the rumors are true, Osgood said during Sundays broadcast.
I am pushing 84.
Its just that its been such a joy doing it!
The date is set for me to do my farewellSunday Morning.
Osgood has been the anchor ofSunday Morningsince 1994 and has been with CBS News for 45 years.
No announcement has been made yet on who will succeed Osgood asSunday Morninganchor.
