Bruce Springsteen will release his autobiography on Sept. 27 via Simon & Schuster,his website announced Thursday.
Springsteen has been privately writing the autobiography over the past seven years, the note read.

He began work in 2009, after performing with the E Street Band at the Super Bowls halftime show.
Writing about yourself is a funny business, Springsteen says in his book, according to the release.
