Babs is back in the directors chair: EW has confirmed that Barbra Streisand is set to directCatherine the Great, a feature biopic about the 18th-century Russian empress.
Gil Netter will produce the historical film, which will be Streisands first dramatic directorial effort since 1996sThe Mirror Has Two Faces.

Streisand made her directorial debut with the 1983 musical dramaYentl, in which she also starred, and with which she became the first (and as of now, only) woman to receive the Golden Globe for Best Director.
