In her book, Schumer reveals she lost her virginity when her then-boyfriend assaulted her while she was sleeping.
Schumer said she stayed with the boyfriend, and even reassured her assailant when he felt remorseful.
Still, she added, it messed me up and my trust issues are terrible.

And also because its not this perfect rape.
People want you to have been raped perfectly, and they want you to be a perfect victim.
Were so critical, and it makes victims really not want to speak up, Schumer said.
I thought, this is my guy.
We are supposed to take care of each other, Schumer recalled.
Its messed up, she added.
And its not fair.
And that shouldnt have happened to me.
And I hope [speaking out] stops it from happening to even one person.
