On the final performance night, the competition is too close to call
We made it, yall.
Were standing on the edge ofAmerican Idols farewell finale week, and Im exploding with emotions.
Just a ton of emotions and vibrato and falsetto and maybe just a little bit of eyeliner.

But we have to save a little bit of room because were not done.
Get yourbig curlsandloose hair crimperready, kids we have a finale to recap.
I think that is probably to his detriment.
Its proof that he belongs in the finale.
Meanwhile, Im over here at 25, and I guess Im never getting off my couch again.
But we can let that go because Daltons lead single is actually pretty stellar.
But unlike Trents performance, Im not entirely sure that hes strong enough to carry it.
With absolutely no snark meant toward Dalton, it wasnt ever really his finale to be in.
LaPorsha Renae, Battles
Rank: First
Thisis what happens when youre an amazing singerandyou get a radio-ready song.
Do I think that this will be LaPorshas biggest hit?
The first person announced to be part of the finale is LaPorsha, because duh.
Youre right it couldnt.
Its been that way for quite a while.
Lord.Thisis a Trent song, and its captivating from moment go.
But its an older song that doesnt give us a feel for what Trent might do as an artist.
(Thats a technical singing term for yelling.)
Trent is hardly out of the race, though.
LaPorsha will have to put out a show stopper to take him out entirely.
LaPorsha Renae, A House Is Not a Home
Throwback to Tamyra Gray, am I right?
Tonight he did it again.
And of all the wonderful Trent performances that have happened to date, thiswas his best of the season.
Trent was simply breathtaking because he was smart and calculated and emotional and experienced.
Trent deserves to win this round, if not the whole competition.
She has blossomed into a true performer, and its truly incredible.
Shes mastered the stage, and it doesnt feel like youre watching anAmerican Idolfinalist.
It feels like youre watching a true performer.
I melt into the floor, unable to vote for anyone ever again.
