'Spark Joy' by Marie Kondo: EW review
Ive always had a tendency to anthropomorphize. But Im not the only acquisitive American who has trouble with goodbyes. Her approach draws equally from Japanese notions of transience and minimalism and a self-help seminars focus on personal transformation. She describesSpark Joyas an illustrated guide to the methods shes previously laid out, but its mainly a rehash. Theres likely something to be gained from her philosophy about reducing ones stuff. Case in point: Those dish towels are currently topping a fetid peak in a municipal dump somewhere....
